About this artwork
This piece is part of a series called Modigliani Minutes. The series is inspired by the drawings and sketches of the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani. The idea for the series came to me at a visit to the national museum of art in Copenhagen, where I was randomly flipping through a book about Modigliani. I was immediately drawn by his sketches of female figures, that are at the same time extremely simple and highly expressive.
