Letting go, getting rid of perfectionism and saying goodbye to baggage - this is an instructive process many artists go through while painting. With luck, you will experience letting go as a liberating and exhilarating experience rather than a fearful, painful one. It is not uncommon for a picture to be completely… painted over - as happened with “Metamorphosis”. The feeling is not that something is being “broken”, but rather that further development is occurring. Just like with the experiences we have in the course of our lives: memories of beautiful things are always there, even if we add new, moving moments to them...
