About this artwork
“Sunset over Khrushchyovkas” shows how an ordinary city evening can become a quiet revelation. Soft pastel clouds and a small pink sun turn the sky into something fragile and tender, while the strict lines of the panel buildings with their antennas and balconies suddenly seem alive in this light. The painting gently reminds us that beauty is often hidden in the most familiar views – we just need to look up.
Combining urban austerity with airy colour,… this work balances architecture and sky, weight and lightness. It will bring warmth and a subtle sense of nostalgia into a living room, studio or office, becoming a calm but striking accent in a contemporary interior.
Anna Parhimovits is an artist from Estonia who works with oil and pastel techniques. Born in Kazakhstan, she grew up and now resides in Estonia. Her work harmoniously intertwines Russian and Estonian cultures, reflecting her life journey and multifaceted perspective on the world.
Inspired by nature, architecture, and emotions, Anna creates landscapes, still lifes, and abstractions where classical style meets contemporary forms.
Her artistic journey began in 2000, and since then, Anna's works have resonated both at home and abroad. She is a laureate of the international competition HABITUS BALTIJA (2004) and a participant in the collective exhibition ART WOMAN '97. In 2018, her solo exhibition, titled "Let’s Get Acquainted," was held at the Russian Theatre Gallery in Estonia, showcasing pastel landscapes and still lifes.
