About this artwork
I started ‘One Desire’ many years ago, as a reflection on ‘Crimson Sails’ by A. Grin. I imagined it, I dreamed it and one day, I saw the ship of my dreams. It was beautiful and triumphant, gliding on the water, as if a page from the story, like a miracle came to life… When I returned to the studio, I looked at the painting from a different perspective and put it aside. The story must be lived…
A long time has passed and many things have changed in… my life. The city where I live now is by the sea. Almost every day I’m on the seafront and watching the horizon. Gradually I returned to life, painting, dreaming.
One day I put the painting back on the easel and revived the forgotten story. I gave more energy to the water and the sky. The girl, frail and naive, now has more strength… I changed the name of the painting, but the feelings are even stronger - hope, faith and eternal love! Safe travels, my dream boat! Smooth sailing to those who travel with dreams!

« My paintings do not intend to provide an idealistic view on the environment, but to recognize which individual roles in the surrounding society are important. »
Anna Ravliuc is rising UK painter with international exposure. Ravliuc works exclusively with oil paints which she feels have a unique ability to simulate volumetric texture through brushstrokes and glazing, thus increasing their optical properties. Her artwork strives to reveal how society spreads beyond its own subjective horizons and often reveals a story about the outcomes of global cultural interaction on individuals.
