I connected with Manchester at my first step, after getting off the train. It felt as if I was seeing the city in paintings, contrast of colours and dimensions, the intimate closeness of shiny skyscrapers and historical buildings, the harmony of the scratches on buildings from another time. Every road called to me, every street whispered something to me. I don't know what attracted me so much and what was so magical about that trip. I know the…

Anna Ravliuc is rising UK painter with international exposure. Ravliuc works exclusively with oil paints which she feels have a unique ability to simulate volumetric texture through brushstrokes and glazing, thus increasing their optical properties.
