Original oil piece is inspired by memories of my visit to Cornwall blended with stunning light tones of sunset seen over Cotgrave. The edges are painted hence there is no need to frame them. The places that Anna Schofield visits live long in her memory until she is ready to bring them back to life on canvas through her own interpretation. The UK-based artist loves traveling and documenting seascapes, skies, harbors, trees, and flowers. Schofield begins a piece by creating a ‘suggestion of the mark’ using acrylics, gesso, or polyfilla. She then covers the canvas with many layers of oil paint until the final result is achieved.
