About this artwork
Street Art and Pop Art come together in ironic subjects inspired by cinema, music, the animal world, the contemporary world. The paintings are framed by decorated stamps which give a kind of universality. The paintings are inspired by song titles (for now Bowie and U2) that evoke ideas and feelings that usually do not coexist with the lyrics of the songs themselves; it can inspire memories, ideas, moods, characters etc. A bit of controversy, a bit…
of irony, a bit of cynicism. The base of the painting often resembles a wall where anyone can leave a mark and the subjects mix with the base but are expelled at the same time. Penguins.

« Art is the most democratic form of communication that exists, it can make you dream, it can make you think, and it can give you sensations. »
Annabella Talignani is a painter and photographer based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally. From an early age, she had a great love for the classic films made in Hollywood, including its actresses and fim posters. Consequently, Talignani's works feature icons of cinema, television, and music. Creating in series, she often makes pop culture references with a playful twist. Her multilayered and vibrant compositions are created using collage and decollage with acrylics, enamel, and varnish on canvas.
