About this artwork
In this painting, the oblique angle instinctively took hold and asserted itself. It drew me into my memories. I recalled a rampart at the edge of the ocean. A place for observation, where the gaze travels far. A place where one feels alone. And yet, the presence of the ocean and all the life it contains is there, inescapable. It is also a place conducive to poetry.
