About this artwork
The artist worked into this painting over seven years. Her struggle to create a work of beauty put Deon through several versions of LIFE. She started LIFE in 2013, went through many versions of the painting, never becoming satisfied enough to call it finished. Finally in 2020 during the Covid stay at home lock down, she finalized this version of Life.

Anne Deon is an American artist whose bold works explore mysticism, primitive history, as well as concepts relating to heroism or evil. In addition, she portrays recognizable individuals that embody human conditions, so that viewers can easily draw connections in their own minds.
