About this artwork
From the common thread that she stretched for Hermès on the Silk Road, Anne Garde stages landscapes and an architectural and heritage “in-between” giving them the dimension of a visual saga. By projecting monochromes of Japanese red, revolution red, carmine red or Klein blues at the Palais de Chaillot, or again as here, by depositing color pigments on the bunkers of the Atlantic coast, the photographer says the void, the desertion, but also the splendor…
of the volumes and shapes revealed thanks to the outline that she prints in the original of the subject and the shot. Perfectionism in spectacular prints under diasec, the film is highlighted, in its specificity, relief, material, brilliance, in the essence of what makes photography which asserts itself as the art of "light and speed ". Anne Garde is an established French photographer whose works have been exhibited internationally. In her photography work, Garde is interested in how spaces can hold memory, whether natural or industrial. In particular, she is fascinated by "abandoned places where the void reigns". Her photos are avant-garde, evocative, and often overwhelming works of art. These photographic installations are taken with a 4X5 inches large format camera on a silver film support.
