About this artwork
I made the amazing abstract painting using sand, marble dust and open pigments. It has a slightly rough surface that comes from the sparing use of the sand that I add to the runny paint, which is very appealing. The unusual, particularly beautiful combination of colors captivates the viewer, and the countless fine strokes that make the composition appear almost graphic are also great. The colors turquoise, petrol, yellow, gray and black together…
just look great. It is one of my favorite works in this technique, it is a quiet, yet striking, expressive image.

Anne Samson is a passionate German painter who has exhibited her works nationally. Always motivated to create aesthetic tensions, she uses colour and structure to provoke emotions, viewer intrigue and a sense of joy. To achieve this, she oscillates between the abstract and the figurative, using a range of materials including quartz sand, marble flour, ink, oil, and chalk alongside an acrylic base.
