About this artwork
Icelandic landscape of a black sand beach at sunrise.
Canvas framed in a matte white wooden frame.
Painter of multi-technical places, I am interested in the question of landscape in the simplest possible construction by promoting color. Large spaces are focused on geographical edges such as coasts, caves, volcanoes, temporal edges such as dusk, dawn, in a search for capturing light and varying the states of water.

« A painter of places, I look for landscapes that are the origin of the first scene, the ones that can bring us serenity, simplicity, and universality. »
Anne Schirmeyer is an artist based in France whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally. She describes her emotionally evocative landscapes and seascapes as being a search for "the origin", as well as appeasement and spirituality. Schirmeyer's distinctive style fuses tonalism with expressionism and "spiritual abstraction". She primarily creates with oils on linen.
