About this artwork
This painting is a diptych, each 36 x 36". This painting was done during Covid 19 distancing time March - June 2020. Even Waldo, who is usually difficult to find in a crowd somewhere in the world, has been self-isolating. Anne lives a few blocks from Mud Lake in Ottawa Canada, a wild conservation area pocketed in the west end of urban Ottawa. Most days while distancing herself during the pandemic, she has wandered to the shores of Mud Lake to…
watch the light upon the water and woods -- heron, beaver, geese, turtles and little woodland birds. This painting is infused with images from these times: analagous muted colour, energetic lines, and light give "alternative news" from the wild.

« I am fascinated with change and metamorphosis. »
Anne Wright is an artist based in Canada whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally. Through her art, she investigates the invisible behind what is visible, the waxing and waning, as well as the collision and confusion that underlie what is apparent. Wright's lyrically expressive compositions are created with organic impressions and textures, with subtle gradations of analogous color.
