About this artwork
In “Profiles in Light,” part of the “Inner Sun” series, I explore firsthand the relationship between identity, perception, and human connection through the symbolic language of light. The sun is a fundamental element, a symbol of energy, life, and transformation. With this work on canvas, I have given form to an internal dialogue of emotions, relationships, and transformations. suspended in a space of encounter. Through painting, I seek to convey a silent and profound dialogue, in which each presence leaves a trace in the other. The palette of yellows, oranges, and reds, contrasting with blues and greens, creates a balance between energy, emotional tension, and visual harmony. The geometric decomposition guides the gaze to different levels of interpretation. Annemarie Ambrosoli's artistic research began at a very young age with her observation of real landscapes, portraits, and nature, with particular attention to bare trees, whose intertwined branches evoke silhouettes similar to arms reaching toward the sky.
Over time, his language has evolved toward a personal synthesis of figuration and geometry. His figures, often painted half-length and in profile, eschew a realistic gaze for essential lines, barely visible mouths, hair, and details transformed into geometric and decorative shapes. He does not seek a classical portrait, but a symbolic and emotive image capable of conveying harmony, dialogue, and positive energy through themes such as music, dance, flowers, and nature.
His work has received international recognition, including the 2019 and 2021 A' Design Awards.
