About this artwork
This work is made on canvas, with
oil pastels. It was created under the impulse of the spontaneous and intuitive gesture. The layers of color overlap one another then a blade comes to scratch the surface of the canvas revealing little by little the lights. The whole reveals an imaginary world, intense, very colorful and joyful. The drawing was initially based on a male character but his expression was sad. Which did not suit me. So I reorganized… the face and it is that of this Chinese woman which appeared. The spontaneous gestures then filled the canvas with colors. This female character imposed herself on the canvas with an extreme softness leading the spectator to enter into himself. The Chinese sage invites us to visit our inner worlds and to discover our wisdom within ourselves.
