She has to be quiet. If she asks questions, we tell her she's too young, that she wouldn't understand. We don't want to explain anything to her. If she talks back, she gets in trouble. She's not allowed to teach us, correct us, or give us her opinion. We are the authority, and she has to obey us. She has to respect and admire us. We don't see why respect should be earned. And it's this behavior of adults that I criticize through my work.
