About this artwork
White Noise by definition is a heterogeneous mixture of sound waves extending over a wide frequency range that has been used to mask out unwanted noise interfering with sleep. This painting is a metaphor for all the frequencies modern-day humans surround themselves with, from clashing colors to chaotic sounds. In doing so, they numb themselves to the fear of death, the fear of absurdity, or the fear of loneliness. Ironically, this same white noise…
can mute the very essence of our humanity, spicing things up so much that the true savor of our existence, pur connection to the cosmos, is lost in the mix. Symbolically, the central character is squeezing out more condiments on a hot dog, while a lotus flower at her feet reminds her of the spiritual world she needs to return to. White Noise should spark any conversation on the meaning of our human existence, while brightening a home with a loud joyful chaos.
