About this artwork
Some places remain in the memory not for their architecture, but for a view. A moment in which the world was silent and suddenly became color. "Paris IV" is precisely such a moment: an echo between proximity and distance, between a fleeting smile in the half-light and the murmur of a street that never quite stops. The intense pink and violet tones overlap like thoughts that can no longer be organized; blurred, reflected, shot through with light and… silence. A line separates or connects – the visible and the felt. This work is Paris as I experienced it: raw, delicate, mysterious.
Anselm Homey, originally an interior designer, works as a self-taught painter using acrylic and oil paints, as well as one-line drawings on handmade paper. He creates abstract visual worlds in which layering, reflection, and texture merge into multifaceted compositions, complemented by poetic, reduced linework in his drawings. His works invite the viewer to delve deeply into inner landscapes, concealing longing, memory, and transformation, and convey a quiet, contemplative emotional resonance.
