This painting continues the series of Paintings with an elongated shape of Yellow Ochre Light, all roughly in the same position the paper. I spent a long time using one or two other colours in the position of the Olive Green line. But I had thought for a long time that I would use Olive Green. Because it is so dark, it doesn't stand out too much from the rest of the picture. But seems quietly to control the left of the painting as a dominant…
feature which balances the two elements on the right.
