About this artwork
One of the first and most significant sculptures from the series “The leaves cover the war”. “It is an art project that conveys important messages and complex and challenging senses and ideas. It is dedicated to lost and dead people during the I World War and the II World War. The idea of the project was arising during the artist's own expeditions to the battleground of WWII. The idea is that the war is going on while the last soldier is not found...…
The artist was working on the concept and realization of this project for about 10 years. While making the sculpture he used parts of his own findings from the expeditions–parts of mines, arms, bayonets, helmets, etc. that were re-forged into the elements of the sculptures. It was done to keep a piece of war in the works. The main idea of the project is to remember and remind about the past time events – about the victims of the dreadful wars - WWI and WWII, about the value of human life. So the main idea is humanism.
