About this artwork
The white canvas ‘Captivity’: Love is the answer what was the question... represents captivity, the restrictions that are imposed on us, visibly or invisibly, by regimes and governments. White represents innocence and the fundamental goodness that should guide us.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Drawing from her artistic lineage, Antonie de Rooij utilizes acrylic, charcoal, and mixed techniques on canvas. Her notable style involves integrating horizontal lines in her works, symbolic of interconnectedness. Her abstract works, often inspired by profound insights like John Lennon's quote about love and ambiguity, show her ability to unravel the complexity of human existence. Her pieces act as emotional probes that emphasise the collective human empathy.
