About this artwork
A perfectly restored bunker, to be considered as a memento of the past authoritarian regime. I was struck by his current loneliness and uselessness. A slag of a past world that contaminates the present, still used by residents in various ways, also foreseen to exorcise the ancient fear it generated. Preserving history even when we don't like it is a sign of maturity of a people who want to historicize the past in order to learn from it.

« Everything is worthy of attention, everything is "sacred", like the breath, the silence, but also the cries of human pain. »
Antonio De Nardis is a painter and draftsman based in Italy whose works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally. He describes the only central theme marked in his works as being the "reality of things", filtered and shaped by the truth, as well as the reality of the countless states of consciousness and sensations. In essence, De Nardis' bold compositions portray reality as it does not appear.
