About this artwork
This painting shows one of the most emblematic buildings in my city, San Clemente. Built in the 15th century, prior to 1445, by order of Hernán González del Castillo, mayor of Ávila, during the reign of Juan II and great-grandson and direct relative of Clemente Pérez de Rus, founder of the town. This tower is the oldest building in the town. Due to its location and height, its use must have been, more than for a strictly military use, to a surveillance…
