Antonio Finocchiaro began his studies at the Art Institute of Catania, where he was exposed to ancient techniques, from egg tempera to fresco, from graffito to mosaic. He trained at the Academy of Urbino, where he became acquainted with leading figures in the Italian art scene, such as Galliani, Calzolai, Nelli, and others. It was during these years that he began his pictorial exploration, primarily using oil, pastel, and mixed media. His painting blends a figurative approach with informal elements, hinting at reality and then dissolving it into free, almost explosive forms. His works evoke memories and fragments of personal experience, conveying a powerful emotion of memory, nostalgia, and transformation, deeply engaging the viewer.
