« Making art to save the child in me. »
Antonio Mele is a painter, printmaker, and sculptor based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Spain, Belgium, China, and Austria. Inspired by social themes, he describes his painterly compositions as "magical realism of a literary matrix". However, Mele's sculptural pieces are more fluid and less conceptual. He allows himself to be guided by the suggestions of the materials, which include marble, stone, rock, etc.
