About this artwork
Abstraction and figuration interpenetrate and merge. The imagination runs towards an urban landscape, at the moment in which the night is about to give way to the first light of day, before the sun rises, at the first light. The contrasting shapes and colours, warm, cold, white, black, yellow, red, refer to surreal skyscrapers arranged along vertical axes, cut by horizontal spatulas, still dramatically immersed in the black of the night but which…
emanate a strong yellow light, at center of the image, which spreads with red and violet reflections. The work belongs to the period lived by the artist in the Milanese hinterland, and it would almost seem like an escape from reality, waiting for a dawn and a sun that will certainly rise to illuminate and warm the world.
