About this artwork
In astronomy, the Singularity is the center of a black hole in which all matter disappears due to its infinite gravity. I like to think that all that matter appears in another dimension or universe. This sculpture tries to represent this phenomenon. Its spiral shape towards the center that leads to a small hole represents these forces of attraction. The sculpture changes shape as we move around it, representing the infinite changes of matter in space-time.…
Singularity was made by the manual direct carving method in a sandstone of excellent quality and durability known as Floresta stone.
