"Soundscape 221211" is a pictorial-musical performance. The chromatic variations of these watercolors evoke surprising soundscapes.
In the "Soundscapes" performance, all the sounds come from the noises made by the brush on the paper, and the choice of colors and brushes influences the musical result. This watercolor is the musical score. The pictorial and musical performance is similar to live coding: the creation of the score coincides with the… musical performance.
Each mark and color corresponds to a sound. By repeating the same gestures, using the same brushes and colors, you obtain a similar sound.
I developed a painting music controller that allows you to follow the painting process with audio that re-elaborates and processes the sound of the brush strokes. Each action and color is associated with a preset sound.
