About this artwork
This is a picture from a series of animal portraits by the artist. The monkey's gaze reveals extreme alertness. Do the animals notice our stress due to Covid 19? How do you perceive us? Maybe they could make us aware of important things and show us a way out. We should urgently change our behavior towards them. Treat them decently. So that they can stay healthy and not get sick from miserable treatment. Maybe we could protect ourselves better this…
way.

Credentials
- International Exposure
- Experienced Artist
« I'm looking for a way to put my thoughts on the world in which we live as well as the events that characterize our time in my painting. »
Arlette Zurbuchen is an experienced Swiss artist who has exhibited her work both at home and abroad, particularly throughout Switzerland and the United States. A theater director as well as a painter, she views art and culture as channels through which to better understand our world. In line with this, she composes works that respond to current societal events and issues, and further delves into the complex personalities and philosophies making up today's world. Ultimately, Zurbuchen hopes for her curious figurative paintings to motivate each viewer to reflect and wonder about the society in which we all live.
