It is the gaze that expresses everything: the truth of a man, his external reality as well as his inner universe. A round-up of the messages that sometimes unintentionally conveys our gaze. The interpretation of the world that arises before us is often influenced by our gaze. In this self-portrait, the artist takes a very rigid look at his person. Everything is coarse and geometric. It is… through this self-portrait that the artist becomes aware of his image and his artistic agility. “I see myself and I paint myself, so I am an artist”. It is by allowing the gaze of others on this painting that the artist finds his existence and artistic fulfilment. The colours are carefully chosen. The black font was chosen to produce a contrast with the warm colours that give the effect of a feeling of warmness when seen. The colours define the artist's liveliness and energy.
