I've painted this artwork partly from my imagination. It was grey day near the church. Cold weather. The end of the winter. Birches and other trees were so high. Water was cold and sky was so heavy with shades and tones. Landscape with architecture is always hard to paint. I used mostly ocher, yellow, white, blue and a bit green. Style is realistic. Realism helps to find out the main in the painting.… But it also - expressionism... Impressionism is a bit far away...
I was inspired by works of Valentin Serov and Isaak Levitan very much.

Artem Brazhnik is a painter from Ukraine who has exhibited nationally. He drew often as a child and after his father saw one of his, he exclaimed that he was an artist, which he has remained ever since. Brazhnik’s works mainly feature landscapes, favoring impressionism as his favorite technique for plein air painting. He prefers to create using oils on canvas.
