About this artwork
This painting is born from a creative visualization in meditation and portrays the 7 planetary rulers of the 7 cosmic rays in our Solar System, emanating from the point of light in the Star Sirius, where they will reach full realization, self-awareness, beauty and power.
It is amazing how magical the number 7 is in our lives, and how many essential things in them are organized from this sevenfold manifestation. Stanley Kubrick in his film "2001,… A Space Odyssey" hints at it in his psychedelic planes, where 7 diamonds govern from above the horizon everything that runs beneath its surface. The Swedish painter Hilma af Klint, painted in her work "Altar No. 1" the 7 planes of matter, and it is no coincidence that the 7 days of the week are 7 and not 8 or 6, or that the musical scale is composed of 7 notes.
« I wanted to be a pilot, but I ended up painting. Now I fly higher. »
Arturo Prins is an exciting Spanish artist whose style comes from a sensibility of play, discipline, freedom and rebellion, redoubled in a constant reinvention of himself. Thematically, Prins looks to delve into metaphysics, symbolism, esoteric cosmogony, while mixing in humor to soften the transcendent themes in his work. He also describes his work as being "nostalgic for the future, sometimes with a nod to the eclectic spiritualism between East and West."
