Asmae Laraqui, a Moroccan-Canadian visual artist based in Montreal, specializes in sculpture and the hybridization of porcelain, stoneware, metal, glass, and fibers, drawing on a rich transcultural heritage. Her intuitive techniques explore the organic, weaving forms inspired by the seabed, coral reefs, roots, and invisible ecosystems. She excels in the hybridization of materials, breaking down genre boundaries to create poetic micro-architectures. Her works convey memory, the fragility of life, migratory identity, and a profound inner strength, inviting contemplation and an intimate dialogue with nature.
