About this artwork
The melting point initiates a thaw; On the one hand, this has a positive connotation with the expectation of new growth, but on the other hand, the melting is worrying in terms of climatic tipping points. If you translate the English name literally, it is the dripping point. The black-clad figure in the picture is exposed to dripping dots - a hike during a thaw.
Water is the basis of all life. The element of water in its different manifestations… is a central element of my work. Acrylic painting operates with a liquid material, which is why the depiction of liquid or fluids is almost obvious.

Esslinger was at the beginning of her artistic career with textile, before she turned to painting. Her many travels and residency stays worldwide influence the cultural and sociopolitical issues that Esslinger deals with in her art. She also works with cardboard collages that critically question consumption.
