In my collage I play with semi-abstract shapes and text fragments to create a lively composition. The collage-like composition of different materials adds depth and encourages reflection on everyday moments. Esslinger was at the beginning of her artistic career with textile, before she turned to painting. Her many travels and residency stays worldwide influence the cultural and sociopolitical issues that Esslinger deals with in her art. She also works with cardboard collages that critically question consumption.
