About this artwork
This artwork captures the tranquil yet powerful feeling of a sunset at the sea. Using acrylics, I have depicted the flowing transitions between sky and water, radiating both serenity and depth. Astrid Krömer works primarily with acrylic and mixed media on canvas and has extensive design training as well as over three decades of experience as an artist and illustrator. Her works combine representational landscape painting with atmospheric abstraction and are characterized by layered superimpositions, reduced color palettes, and an emphasis on light and spatial effects. With Nordic restraint and expressive surface treatment, she succeeds in capturing the essence of maritime landscapes and conveying a profound, moving tranquility and inner vastness.
