About this artwork
I created this picture during my years in Cornwall, painting it directly by the sea with sea sand and shell fragments, mixed with paint and chalk. Ley lines are energy lines that extend through the sea into the land. Churches and sacred sites often stand at their intersections. This work is a homage to my time in Cornwall.
Astrid Sapion uses a variety of media, including acrylic, gouache, charcoal, and natural materials, drawing on her experience from studying art in Cornwall. She combines layered painting, palette knife techniques, and barehanded painting to create a free-flowing, abstract visual language. Her works reflect a deep connection to nature and radiate a unique harmony, vitality, and reverence for planet Earth.
