Athos Zacharias is a distinguished American painter whose prizewinning works are held in global public collections. Zacharias's abstract paintings, in part informed by his time serving as an assistant to Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline and Lee Krasner during the 1960s and 1970s, are relics of the movements of Abstract Expressionism and Action Painting at the moment of their inception and proliferation in New York City during the mid 20th century.
