« I want my art to be a medium for people to explore the world that I see every day, the good, the bad, everything ... »
Atia Maibam is an artist based in Bangladesh whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Thailand and England. The major themes reflected in her figurative works explore social, political, and cultural issues, especially relating to women. In addition, Maibam's Manipuri culture is a pivotal influence on her art. Consequently, her compositions are always imbued with "glimpses" of her culture. She most often creates using acrylics on canvas.
