About this artwork
Part of the earlier painterly abstracts after De Kooning.
Some image remnants and association do arise but I do believe these are subjective. I look for sustained mystery and the surprise I get when I view my work later on, if the painting manages to catch me of guard than thats a good indication that it is a success. I keep 1 out of 4-5 attempts the rest go back in the cycle of the paintings I work on at the time.

Atom Hovhanesyan (1981-2018) was an Armenian artist who worked and lived in both Los Angeles and New York. His paintings have been posthumously exhibited in the United States and China. Hovhanesyan's distinctive post-divisionism style manifests through line, gesture, and the creation of complex and compelling spaces that act as points of departure, while also conveying mysterious painterly energy.
