"In the latest abstract expressionist series, my goal is to continue the evolution of my initial painterly approach towards more atmospheric or surreal one . I wanted to still use line and gesture as the initial “scaffolding’ of the picture however in the latest series my aim is more towards creating depth and luminosity, and approach the issue from a storytelling point of view."

Atom Hovhanesyan (1981-2018) was an Armenian artist who worked and lived in both Los Angeles and New York. His paintings have been posthumously exhibited in the United States and China. Hovhanesyan's distinctive post-divisionism style manifests through line, gesture, and the creation of complex and compelling spaces that act as points of departure, while also conveying mysterious painterly energy.
