About this artwork
This portrait belongs to a series of portraits on paper in grape format. Recent work done from a concept of graphic construction and deconstruction using other paints, torn by hand, to reconstruct an original work. This way of working is new for me, it allows me to take other works on paper and incorporate them into new works. My experience in digital graphics work is leveraged from analog work using the layer overlay feature. A strange almost human…

Aude Rech is an experienced painter and photographer based in France whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Germany and the United States. While her artistic approach has varied throughout her career, she describes her art as being a dialogue with the world, "one we carry within us". In her artistic process, Rech favors paper over canvas, as it allows her to create more freely.
