The Death and The Queen is a mask sculpture from the Fauns series. Hybrid, not without evoking the figure of a devil adorned with a bee, it questions a mythological figure transposed into a future after the fall. What will be left when all our hedges are replaced by these plastic plant mats? Faced with disaster, we dig our graves a little deeper every day.
I first modeled the face in clay, molded it and then cast it in plaster. I then painted the… motif of the face in watercolor and acrylic then I carried out the work of composition and collage using recycled elements, plastic plants, toys, beads, various objects. Finally, I covered the sculpture with clear, glossy epoxy resin. I attached a metal rod to the back of the sculpture to easily hang it on the wall using a peg.
Aurore LANTERI, a painter and sculptor, creates her works using beeswax paint and watercolor, combined with modeling and assemblage. She blends expressionism, kitsch, and outsider art, giving life to a colorful and bold aesthetic. Her canvases and sculptures depict the tumult of human existence, revealing our primal ties to the animal world and the world of our ancestors. Her art is a vibrant cry, seeking to capture the essence of life in its chaotic splendor and wild diversity.
