About this artwork
This picture has something to do with my childhood. It contains: the green of the forest in which the enchanted house stood, the brightness of the sunlight that occasionally broke through the green of the trees, the smells of the apples stored there, the hardboard on which this is painted. The shimmer of the light. The Christmassy feel of the decorated Christmas tree. Here we are in the world of the 1960s in West Germany, in the bourgeois post-war…
period, surrounded by traumatized people. The forest, however, brought peace, to this day . . . .
