About this artwork
“Exit”, is an exhibition whose start takes place in three exhibitions at the National Anthropological museum of Madrid, the Alliance française in Madrid, and the Gazzambo Gallery. Balanced between paintings and sculptures, the Exit series aims to make a pictorial and imaginary story of the exile's journey, the successive exile and even its possible success.
The series of works under the title “Exit” includes a sculpture work and a painting work.… Paintings made in 2018, try to evoke dreams of the traveller in the journey of exile. Sometimes considered as a tapestry pattern, sometimes as a window, and almost always on a square format, the series is composed of about thirty pieces, watercolour and acrylic on canvas and paper, by a medium size of 110x110 cm.

Baptiste Laurent (1980, Nantes) is a visual artist residing in Spain since
2007.
He has exhibited in various artistic and cultural institutions such as the Institute
French of Madrid, Esquina Nua, Espacio Seara, Palais de Tokyo, Gazzambo
gallery, the Aliance Française, the Museo Nacional de Antropología and the FL Gallery.
He developed his artistic practice independently, alongside his studies in
political science and art history. He has been an artistic director and manager of
cultural projects in numerous cultural and artistic institutions (Palais de
Tokyo, La Maison Rouge, Venice Biennale, Galleria Continua, etc.)
His traditional medium is painting, but he also works in sculpture and,
develops projects with a strong literary, social, and anthropological component. In
his recent publications and exhibitions "Mauvaises Tournures", "Bajo el mismo mar" and
"Exit," he experimented with collaborative creative work
