About this artwork
My first great literary love was Dostoevsky. I reluctantly loved Prince Myshkin. The idiot didn't fit my romantic ideals, and yet I had to suffer with him. The reading is long behind me, but what remains is a feeling for the world it created within me.

Painting as addiction and longing.
I constantly have images in my head, and I have to paint them to see them, to see if my ideas and concepts work in reality, or what problems and questions they pose once painted. They are thoughts in pictorial form. They come in their colorful and planimetric structure, and the necessity to paint them resembles the philosophical drive to search unconditionally for the truth. Like a hunting dog.
