About this artwork
Having been lost the previous day in the mist and rain of the Yorkshire Dales the next day was one of the hottest of the year. The artist's friend was trying to find a path which she had walked as a child while staying with her grandmother. The painting is meant to depict the heat of that particular day and the open spaces where the memory lies.
