About this artwork
During the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, I spent three months in Beijing. I did an artist residency at the invitation of a gallery, and I then exhibited all my works at the gallery after three months. Obviously, I followed the city during its Olympic celebrations, and I experienced such a beautiful atmosphere for the first time. I am now putting my remaining paintings online, because the Paris Olympic Games reminded me of the good times in Beijing.… Footbridge is a pictorial translation around the Watercube and Birdsnest, where the stadium was located; it was an atmospheric scene with all the flags blowing in the wind, so colorful.
« My works are philosophical and precious. You sink into them; feel the force of nature and the author’s energy. »
French painter Barbara Piatti has worked and exhibited across the world, in China, Germany, the United States, and India, to name a few. A self-described traveler and story-teller, Piatti's boundless curiosity pushes her to constantly make new artistic discoveries. Sometimes mathematically geometric, other times philosophical and delicate, Piatti's diverse oeuvre is reflective of her ability to masterfully capture and distill the essence of her inspiration - be it place, object, or person.
