About this artwork
The "HOPE" series was created in March/April 2022 - at the time when Russia declared war on Ukraine and the world was appalled and stunned to follow the events.
The artwork "You may say I'm a dreamer" is the third image in the series, which is limited to a total of 8 pieces, and captures the artist's emotions during this time. The artwork was inspired by John Lennon's song "You may say I'm a dreamer".
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you… try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Mistletoe branches, which are a symbol of peace, were also incorporated into the picture.

Barbara Piller is an Austrian mixed-media artist. Her vibrant, expressive works are found in private collections worldwide. With an intuitive, joyful approach, she draws inspiration from everyday life, music, and emotions, transforming them into colorful, multi-layered compositions. Movement and stillness, intuition and structure enter into an energetic dialogue—an expression of her understanding of art as an emotional language and a place of freedom. She works with acrylic paints, chalk, oil and pastel pencils, markers, spray paint, and collage elements, creating a harmonious interplay of diverse techniques. The layering and contrasts reflect the complexity of human experience. With her art, Piller celebrates joie de vivre, authenticity, and positive energy—an invitation to pause, feel, and rediscover the joy of discovery. www.barbarapiller.at
