This multi-layered piece is a striking mix of monotypes, book papers, wax pastel, acrylic paint and graphite, giving it a structured grid-like feel that guides the viewer's eye throughout the design. "No Map Required" could easily be placed with any of the Urban Inspired series, as it definitely captures the same kinetic city feeling that permeates that collection. The palette is infused with energetic flourishes of blue, deep red, hits of orange…
and subtle greens. In striking contrast are the slashes of black and graphite grays, reminding us where the inspiration came from. As with all of the 12"x12" small works, this piece makes a bold statement as a solo act or pairs beautifully with other artworks.
